Random things that don't suck!

iLike

With a name like that I had to enter it here!
I’ve been using last.fm for a little bit of time, not long, and like it. It’s a social site designed around music. It has a pretty large community of listeners and it works pretty well. They keep track of what you listen to and make recommendations accordingly. One big problem: the interaction with my player (iTunes) is not so smooth. It behaves like a web site would or you use its own application… there is an iScrobbler working behind the scenes… its just too many parts sometimes.

This site, which was apparently updated last night, offers a sidebar for the iTunes. You can view similar bands and play the tracks right in the jukebox as oppose to being in a browser. Your friends will show up there too. But the site is too new to really see the community aspects.
Not sure if this will replace last.fm for me. I’m still new to that one and I haven’t experienced the size of the selection on iLike. But I like the interaction.
