Synaptics’ Onyx Phone

If you dig new interface ideas (and I do) you may find the features of this prototype intriguing. Found the article on Communication Arts and there is more at Onyx’s own site.
“The focus of the Onyx project was to illustrate how Synaptics’ revolutionary clear capacitive touch screen can push design and interaction boundaries through collaborative design. … The Onyx concept acts as a remote for your life.” Its a multi-tasking machine. The cool factor is in the interactions with the touchpad/display screen and also the device’s ability to recognize things like being placed on a table v. being held against your face.
Oh, it has gps and an mp3 player too!
But noone is building it yet:-(
