Step-by-Step: Agnes of God Poster
To get my creative juices flowing, I do some work completely unrelated to the day job. It often helps to work with other creative types because they tend to collaborate better. The following shows the general steps that went into a poster for Keegan Theatre.
Inspiration: They say copying is the best form of flattery. What do they say about completely stealing an idea?!
Actually, I do know… The guy that said was even on the cover of another poster of mine.
“Bad artists copy. Good artists steal.”
– Pablo Picasso
1st Subject: 1st of 3 characters is dropped in.
2nd Subject: … and the 2nd…
3rd Subject: All 3 actors are in. The good thing about having an actual plan and not winging it during the shoot… most of your work is done before you get to the computer.
Color Correction: But there was some correction to be done; colors, some highlights and a few dark glows to make them appear as if they’re occupying the same space.
Done. No need to reinvent the wheel here with weird type treatments. It’s basic font choices and some kerning. Another one out the door.
